Responsibilities

Brasfield & Gorrie Equipment & Supply has an exciting opportunity for a Parts Coordinator at the Birmingham BGES location.

 

Responsibilities and Essential Duties include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Manage and supervise parts inventory, purchasing and invoicing
  • Obtain and prepare parts quotes, work orders, and invoices
  • Order and manage parts inventory for rental equipment
  • Coordinate parts inventory from manufacturers and communicate with vendors for company and customer owned equipment
  • Manage all parts warranty and return claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
  • Review and confirm invoices for accuracy
  • Manage the customer damage process for the Birmingham location
  • Participate in continued education on various parts used in the industry
  • Identify and implement areas for company growth within parts department
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Ensure customer satisfaction

Education - Skills - Knowledge - Qualifications & Experience

  • 2-3 years of parts management / supervisory experience
  • Previous experience in the construction or heavy equipment industry preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematic diagrams
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting and other administrative duties
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, tools, and equipment used to repair tools and machinery
  • Knowledge of all applicable safety standards, rules, laws, and procedures
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical and computer-controlled systems
  • Knowledge of welding methods
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Deadline conscious
  • Creative approach to problem solving

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Must have ability to:

  • Work outside in inclement weather
  • Position the body to make repairs in confined spaces
  • Work at extreme heights with safety equipment
  • Reach, hold, position, maneuver, and operate hand tools and replacement parts
  • Identify wires, and other parts by color and other identifying information
  • Use fine hand and finger movements to identify and work on parts not always visible
  • Lift, transport, position, and hold parts weighing up to 50 pounds alone and up to 100 pounds with assistance during repairs
  • Provide mechanical assistance with equipment exceeding 500 pounds
  • Stand and walk on hard surfaces for long periods of time
  • Work extended hours and/or travel with short notice
